Research in the Department

 

The Informatics Department is incredibly active in scientific research. All members of the academic community and the researchers have in their curriculum more than 1.000 publications of scientific articles in famous international scientific journals and conferences, whilst they drastically develop new methods and technologies.
 
The abovementioned research project has a widespread recognition by the international scientific community, with more than 8.000 references in their publications. Furthermore, members of the academic community participate in famous research centers, international scientific organizations, while they have also coordinated in many national and European research programs.
 
Our research plan covers a wide range of subjects related to Informatics and other relevant areas. More specifically, our research groups conduct research on: information processing, computing and communication systems, databases, networks, information systems theory, algorithms, computer and information security, wireless networks and multimedia communications, processing of natural language, computer graphics, advanced computational mathematics e.t.c.
